Itinerary

Some of you have been asking for our itinerary so that you can pray more specifically. (Wow, I really have great friends!) OK, here it is:

• Thursday eve, May 26 - Leave for London
• Friday, May 27 - Arrive in London, 7 hour layover, Fly to Addis
• Saturday, May 28 - Arrive in Addis early in the morning, sleep for a bit, do some shopping, and try to stay awake until at least after supper
• Sunday, May 29 - Drive 6 hours to Sodo. Here we get to see the orphanage that Mebira was in before she was moved to Addis, and we get to travel to the village where she was born. The hotel we are staying in has been known to have no running water and frequent electricity outages. That will be interesting!
  
• Monday, May 30 - Drive 6 hours back to Addis
• Tuesday, May 31 - Visit one of our CCFC sponsor kids in the morning. In the afternoon we will be visiting Mebira at the Transition House. If she is ready to come with us we will take her, otherwise we will just play with her for a few hours and go back to the guesthouse.
• Wednesday, June 1 - If we haven't already picked up Mebira we will do so on this day, and bond, bond, bond with her
• Thursday, June 2 - Still bonding
• Friday, June 3 - Our 11 year Anniversary, late this evening we will head to the airport
• Saturday, June 4 - Our flight leaves at midnight. We fly about 9 hours, have a 9 hour delay in London and then fly home for about 9 hours.
  
• If we think Mebira can handle it, we will post our flight arrival time on the blog and you are more than welcome to come see us at the airport. I can't guarantee what shape we'll be in - I don't handle those flights well and know we'll be exhausted. If we don't think Mebira would do well with that, we will keep our arrival information to just immediate family and will introduce her slowly to others as time goes by.

So there you have it. For those of you who pray, I would appreciate prayers for the flights - I am TERRIFIED of having to do those long flights again...and doing it with a new child, who has never been on a plane, who doesn't speak English is going to bring some challenges. I would also ask for prayers for safety, for patience and for a great bonding, attachment and transition for both Mebira and our family. And, of course, please continue to pray for healing for Arvid's dad.
